The London Metal Exchange (LME) said Tuesday it has suspended trading in nickel on all markets until at least the end of the day after prices more than doubled to a record high of $100,000 a tonne.

“The LME has made this decision on a market basis,” the exchange said in a statement, adding that “trading on LMEselect will be disabled and nickel trading will not be allowed on Ring.”
